Average Costs of Different Wedding Vendors

As any other first time bride trying to plan a wedding, you are basically clueless to how much most things cost. The last thing you want to do is over pay for a service since we know every dollar counts when planning a wedding! I did some research and about the "average" cost of wedding vendors. This information is based on 5 major US cities and 3 of each of these vendors for each city. Based on the prices given on their websites, here are the average costs of these wedding vendors:

Photographer:
Average price: $2980
Lowest price found: $1300
Highest price found: $4000
(Price based on one photographer for at least 6 hours)

Videographer:
Average price: $1846
Lowest price found: $925
Highest price found: $3000
(Price based on two videographers for at least 6 hours)

DJ:
Average price: $911
Lowest price found: $445
Highest price found: $1500
(Price based on one DJ for at least 4 hours)

Officiant:
Average price: $255
Lowest price found: $55
Highest price found: $400
(A justice of the peace is usually less expensive than a priest or pastor.)

Obviously this is just a "guideline" and should be used as such. Hope this helped another clueless bride! I will be using this extensively.

So you are in love and now you are engaged, and excited to be marrying the man of your dreams. Now you have to pick a wedding date, here are a few pointers to help you decide what that perfect date should be!

It is important to check your own calendar for college reunions, family weddings, anniversaries or other events, like big conventions or festivals in your city (call your local chamber of commerce), and any annual occasions that involve your family or close friends. Anything that might create a conflict for friends and family to attend, you want to avoid.

I am not one of those brides who has been planning her wedding day since she was a little girl, in fact I am quite the opposite and never considered even what colors I was interested in until after I got engaged... and because of this I am a quite OVERWHELMED at the prospect of planning this entire wedding.
